What the condition grades mean

Every piece on Frippy carries one of eight condition grades. The seller picks it when they list, and it’s the first thing to check when you buy.

New with tags
Never worn, original tags still attached
New without tags
Never worn but tags have been removed
Like new
Worn once or twice, no visible signs of wear
Excellent
Gently used, minimal signs of wear
Good
Used with some visible wear but still in great shape
Fair
Well-loved with noticeable wear, still functional
Vintage
Classic piece from a previous era, may show age-appropriate wear
Needs repair
Has damage that needs fixing (describe in listing)

If you’re buying

The grade tells you where to look. From Good down, check the photos for the wear the seller mentions, and read the description for the details. Vintage is about age rather than wear, so look for both.

If you’re selling

Pick the grade a stranger would pick. If you’re between two, choose the lower one and show any marks up close in your photos.

Needs repair is a grade like any other. Say exactly what needs fixing, so the buyer knows what they’re taking on.
